Other treatment includes phototherapy which is the most effective treatment for repigmentation of the already developed white patches.

Appropriate creams containing retinoids and benzoyl peroxide are recommended to reduce the oil secretion from the face since oily skin is one of the most common causes of acne. Gentle face washes containing salicylic acid or glycolic acid based face washes are recommended which also reduce oil secretion. Chemical peeling treatment is also usually recommended in case of stubborn Acne since it is very effective in preventing any spots and post Acne scarring. Various peeling agents like salicylic acid , glycolic acid and black peel have been used for acne management.

Various anti fungal creams containing newer anti fungal agents like amorolfine and oxiconazole etc should be preferred over older agents like ketoconazole and luliconazole which are less effective due to development of resistance.
